Room – Emma Donoghue

Brief Synopsis: It’s Jack’s 5th birthday. He and his Ma have lived in Room for as long as he can remember but, now he is old enough, it is time for him to find out the truth.

Good Points: It’s an interesting concept for a book and there are brief spells of excitement and upset.

Bad Points: The book is written from Jack’s perspective and this made feel uneasy at times plus there’s only so much you can write about two people trapped in a Room.

Good For: Making you think.

Overall: 3.5/5
