Starter for Ten

In A Nutshell: Bryan (James McAvoy) thinks his life will change dramatically when he gets to university: he plans to excel at his degree, fall in love with a beautiful woman and gallop to victory on University Challenge. But things never turn out how they’re supposed to, do they?

Good Points: It’s funny in parts, the soundtrack is good and James McAvoy is a wicked actor.

Bad Points: It fails to lives up to the book’s hilarity.

Good For: A rainy Sunday lunchtime.

Overall: 3.5/5
