Brief Synopsis: This differs from the original text in that it is a teenage Alice who falls down the rabbit hole – the reason for the change will become apparent as the film goes on. You will however recognise all of the other colourful characters who feature.
Good Points: The special effects are magical, the make-up (particularly that of Helena Bonham-Carter’s Red Queen) is amazing and there are bits of humour and excitement as well. Basically, this is Alice in Wonderland souped up for the Pirates of the Caribbean generation.
Bad Points: I fell asleep so maybe it’s not as exciting for a 27-year-old as it would be for a 10-year-old.
Good For: A fun family film with excellent effects and a glimpse of the mesmerising Johnny Depp of course.
