The White Horse, Quorn, Leics

Facade: The White Horse is a village pub, pretty, with the familiar green Everards sign above the door. The back patio is nicer with wicker chairs, heaters and large, sociable tables.

Decor: This is an old pub done up so there’s a mix of trad and modern – think patterned wallpaper, heavy wooden tables and a roaring log fire.

Dress Code: It’s a pub so anything goes. We went mid-week and I wore black skinny trousers, a tasselled, Gothic, black top and purple heels.

Snap: I have pan frined sea-bream on a bed of stir fried vegetables in a chive butter. The fish was beautifully cooked – crispy skin, milky flesh –  and the veg was crunchy and tasty.

Good For: Good pub grub in a relaxed atmosphere (I hear the Sunday roasts rock too!)
