Brief Synopsis: Nina (Natalie Portman) is chosen to be the star of Swan Lake. The innocent beauty of the White Swan is a part made for her but she has difficulties in tapping into the darker, sexier personality of the Black Swan. The film charts her descent into madness.
Good Points: Some great acting performances and a story that keeps you thinking for days after leaving the cinema.
Bad Points: It’s gory as hell. Squeamish people, beware.
Good For: A clever film that’ll make you think and should drum up lots of conversation at the pub afterwards.
